Winsock will do the bootp itself - just put ip=bootp in winsock's ini file.
The QVTNet documentation is non-obvious on the ip stuff - if you are running
it over winsock you should leave the ip,gateway, router (all the TCP/IP stuff)
lines in qvtnet.ini _BLANK_ - qvt talks directly to the winsock so doesn't
need to know any ip information. In my experience that actually _STOPS_ a lot
of spurious error messages from QVT.

Subject: Trumpet LOGIN.CMD
Hello all,
With the Trumpet "LOGIN.CMD" file, I can connect to my SLIP server however
when I request SLIP, the server responds with my IP number, but from that
point on, I can no longer type anything. I would want to type ADDRESS so that
the IP number would get passed to TRUMPET but nothing I type appears on
screen.
What should I check, is this likely a Modem problem? a wrong Modem
Initialization string? or some obscure trumpet setup option.
-Thanks, Greg_Kaisen@QuickMail.Yale.Edu

You should edit your login.cmd script to give the address command, and then
display the address. Here is the tail-end of my login.cmd:
***BEGIN***
output dslip\13
#
# Wait for the address string.
#
input 30 Your ip address is
#
# Parse the IP address.
#
address 30
#
# We are now connected, logged in and in SL/IP mode.
#
display \n
display Connected. Your IP address is \i.\n
#
# Now we are finished logging in.
#
***END***
After that, just call up your other winsock apps.

I am using dynamic addressing with the sampler version.
1.1.1.1 in the ip address field works fine as a dummy.
Remember the -i in the slip.ini as the last field and turn on ip
address negotiation at the remote end- "ipaddr" in ppphosts.

Subject: WFW TCP/IP and IPX/SPX Routing?
We have recently installed version 2 of the WFW TCP/IP Daytona
beta software. While running with IPX/SPX protocols it seems
that WFW workgroups cannot communicate across routers. Is the
Microsoft implementation of drive sharing not routable under
the IPX/SPX protocol suite? Any ideas on how to see the
WFW drives across routers?

Subject: Where's WFW's latest TCP/IP-32 3.11 Beta (Daytona Update)?
I read in PC Week that Microsoft has released a new beta for their VxD-based
TCP/IP for WFW. Does anybody know where this might be? I've searched through
ftp.microsoft.com and couldn't find it. I would like to get hold of it and
try it out. Any help would be great!

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I got the impression that while we
(most of the U.S.) are on daylight savings time, we are only 5 hours west of
Universal Time, so the syntax would be -0500. After the last Saturday in
October, you would then change it back to -0600 assuming of course that you
are in the Central Time Zone like I am.
